In 1890 John Scott Pickup's shop occupied the
location at the junction of Helmshore Road and Gregory Fold. Nowadays
the site is occupied by a Travel Agents, CBT International Travel;
having formerly been a florist shop.
Neary's General Store is a well known family
run business, providing everything from a DVD to a Newspaper. The
Neary family ;Catherine, James and Pat have owned the business since
1971.
